Who we are
Cloudbound IT is an IT services company based in Cape Town, South Africa. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through cloudboundit.com, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect
When you send our contact form we receive your name, company, email address, phone number, the number of users in your business, the service you are interested in and your message.
Our SLA estimator, support plan builder and IT health check run entirely in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us unless you choose to include them in a message through the contact form.
Like all websites, our hosting provider's servers record standard technical information for each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the website secure and running.
How we use it
We use the details you send us to reply to your enquiry, arrange an assessment and prepare a quote. We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a mailing list without your permission.
Cookies and browser storage
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser's temporary session storage for convenience only: to carry an estimate or health check result into the contact form, and to remember if you have switched off our animated burglar. This is cleared when you close your browser tab.
Services we rely on
Cloudflare Turnstile protects our contact form from spam. It checks information about your browser and device to tell people apart from bots.
Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this website, so your browser connects to Google's servers to download them.
Afrihost hosts this website, and Microsoft 365 handles our email, including the enquiries you send us.
Some of these providers may process information outside South Africa. Where they do, we rely on providers that are bound by data protection obligations comparable to POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and to manage any work that follows. If you do not become a client, we delete your enquiry when it is no longer needed.
How we protect it
This website is served securely over HTTPS, the contact form is protected against spam and misuse, and enquiries are held in our business email system with access limited to the people who need it.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Contact us using the details above and we will respond as quickly as we can.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
